Mother Daughter Bonding...

... In Abakhan in Chester...

So today I went to Abakhan with my Mum, it was a last minute trip but fun all the same.

I went to look for exciting fabrics for college, fabric to make my clutch bags and fabric for my home made Disco Pants. 

I also got a BLT sandwich from M&S, that I only eat the bacon and bread of (my Mummy pics all the lettuce and tomato off for me, she's such a star!) and a vanilla, creamy cooler from Costa.

Here's what I found while I was in Abakhan...

Heavy weight interfacing.

The interfacing is for my bags, to add durability and strength to them.

The four fabrics above are the Taffeta's I got to make my bags with!

I love the grey. My Mummy chose the blue and red.

I also like how the purple has pink woven into it so it changes colour when it is folded and moved.

I chose two sizes of press stud to see which will be better.

The four little bags underneath the studs are magnetic bag fasteners, I got these to see how they turned out.

I love the look of things when they are just poured out into a surface, all the colours and shapes!

I only got two black ones though! 

I also gave a white one to my auntie.

I had 17 white but one went to my aunt and 2 black.

I got this for a college sample as I liked the colour, shimmer and feel of it.

I thought the way the colour changed and shined was extraordinary.

My Mum found this fabric, and fell in love with it!

Isn't it just absolutely beautiful? 

It is a stretchy/lycra fabric but due to the embroidery it lacks the stretch. 

I plan on making some shorts from it.

It is also another one of my exciting fabrics for college, the stitching is just too pretty!!!

My wine/red coloured spandex/lycra (although it looks bright red it is more of a wine colour.).

I plan on making my Disco Pants from it! EXCITING STUFF!!!

This beautiful find is going to become a maxi skirt, my Mum found it and said I could have it anyway, although I didn't need it, but I adored it!

I may use a sample of it for college as it is already pleated as you can see and feels very silky.

Isn't it just perfection?

This is my gorgeous, mint, green lace!

I like how it looks very clear with added floral detail, it looks like it's attached my magic!

This will be another of my samples!

This is just a plain cotton for lining my lace dress so you can't see me for all I've got! HAHA!

And last but not least is this beauty! My ultimate fave buy of the day!

This is a wool knit, another sample, soon to be jacket/cigarette pants and perfection all in ONE!

I LOVE IT!!!!! Can't get enough of it!

Bargain thread bag (133 spools): £5.00, I worked it out at under 3.7p per spool.

Organdy (0.5m): £1.00

Mixed knit (The pink spotty fabric) (2m): £4.30

Lace (0.325kg): £3.43

Plain Cotton (0.425kg although we don't think it was weighed properly): £9.13

My fave fabric, Wool mix (0.720kg): £8.74

I could have got student discount BUT completely forgot my student ID... Stupid mistake. Note to self: REMEMBER ID BADGE FOR ABAKHAN!

I love fabric and have a huge collection of it in the corner of my bedroom!
